佛系人類…懶得爬上山!古代「直立人」滅絕原因曝光
國外一項最新研究指出,20萬年前滅絕的古代人種「直立人」(Homo Erectus)因缺乏生產複雜勞動工具的能力,隨環境變遷逐漸失去競爭力,現在推測滅絕原因也跟著曝光。
綜合外媒報導,澳洲和英國的研究團隊近期在美國《公共科學圖書館:綜合》(PLOS One)發表研究報告指出2014年在沙烏地阿拉伯中部達瓦德米市(Duwadami )Saffaqah遺址中發現最古老人種之一的「直立人」生活痕跡,分析過數千件出土文物後,進一步了解生存在石器時代早期的直立人生活方式並不勤勞,製作工具和收集材料時,都採用「最省力」對策。

提到滅絕原因,研究指出,由於生活環境的土壤湖泊乾涸,逐漸變成沙漠,但直立人不願改變生活方式,在技術上也沒有任何進展,最終導致滅亡。希爾頓表示:「沉積物樣本顯示,他們的周圍環境正在發生變化,但他們仍自己製作的工具做相同的事情,根本沒有任何進展,我想最終環境對他們來說太乾了」,因此推斷,直立人滅絕的重要原因之一可能就是「懶惰」。
